City of Pierre Announces Holiday Garbage Collection Schedule and Facility Hours
PIERRE, SD – The City of Pierre Solid Waste Department reminds residents of adjusted garbage collection schedules and facility hours during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Solid Waste Facility Holiday Hours:
- December 24: Open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- December 25: Closed
- December 26: Open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- January 1: Closed
Garbage Collection Schedule Change:
Due to the holidays, Thursday garbage collection will occur on Wednesday during both Christmas Week and New Year’s Week. Garbage collection on December 24 will begin earlier than normal. Residents are encouraged to have bags out early.
The City appreciates residents’ cooperation and encourages the public to plan accordingly during the holiday weeks.
