John Petrik , Pierre Utility Professionals Completes Leadership Development Program

An emerging leader from the City of Pierre was among 25 utility professionals who recently completed the Supervisor Essentials Course, a leadership development program offered by Missouri River Energy Services (MRES). The course participants included John Petrik who is a lead linemen for the City of Pierre. 

The year-long program, which consists of four sessions, is designed to equip emerging utility leaders with the essential tools, knowledge, connections and confidence to excel in supervisory roles. Facilitated by staff from the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association’s education department, the course is tailored for individuals currently in, or aspiring to, leadership positions such as supervisors, managers or crew leaders. 

“MRES remains committed to offering specialized training that prepares utility employees for the evolving challenges of the utility industry,” said Matt Schull, president and CEO of MRES. “On behalf of MRES and our members, I want to congratulate this year’s participants for completing the course and for their commitment to growing as leaders within their utilities.” 

MRES is a not-for-profit joint-action agency that provides wholesale electricity and energy-related services to 61 member municipalities in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
