BOOK CLUBS
COZY BOOK CLUB
Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 9:30 a.m.
This interactive large-print book club is open to the public. In March, the cozy mystery is Murder at Castle Morse by Leen Clover. Coffee and cookies will be served.
ADULT BOOK CLUB (TUESDAYS)
March 4, 11, 18 & 25 at 6:00 p.m.
This month, the club will read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. To join this club, designed exclusively for those 18 years or older, email rawlinslibrary@ci.pierre.sd.us, call 605.773.7421, or sign up in person. Water and coffee are provided.
FOR THE THRILL OF IT BOOK CLUB

The book of the month is No One Can Know by Kate Marshall. Register for this thriller genre-reading book club by visiting the front desk at the library or calling 605.773.7421. Must be 18 or older.

LET’S GET COOKING: RAWLINS LIBRARY COOKBOOK
Until March 31
The library is compiling a cookbook of local fare. If you’d like one of your recipes included, submit it to rawlinslibrary@ci.pierre.sd.us or drop a copy at the front desk. If enough recipes are received, the collection will be printed and sold to support programs at Rawlins Library.
2025 COMMON READ BOOK
This year’s Common Read Book is Someone Knows by Christine Wevik and focuses on South Dakota’s cold cases. All library patrons are encouraged to read the book in 2025.
ADULT WINTER READING CHALLENGE
January through March 2025
Adults are encouraged to read various genres of books and complete a reading log provided by the library. Completed logs can be returned to the library the week of April 1 through 7 for a free book. Limit one free book per adult reading log.
SUPER SENIOR DAY / BINGO
Tuesday, March 4
Bingo at 1 p.m.
Senior citizens can enjoy refreshments, up to ten pages of free printing, up to five pages of free faxing, and Bingo. The game starts at 1 p.m.
RIDES FOR READERS ALL DAY (TUESDAYS)
March 4, 11, 18, and 25
Senior citizens living in Pierre and Fort Pierre can get a free ride to the library every Tuesday until March 31. To reserve your ride, at least 24 hours in advance, call River Cities Transit at 605.945.2360.
ADULTING 101: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT INSURANCE
Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m.
Jill Kruger, Library Trustee and Deputy Director of Insurance for the State of South Dakota will share information about health, home, and renter’s insurance. The event is free and open to the public.
PIERRE RURAL RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Friday, March 7 at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Pierre is home to a Rural Residency Program to help train family medicine physicians. Dr. Jenna Wickersham, local director for the program, will share information about the program and the residents who are helping improve local healthcare.
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH: PIONEER WOMEN OF SOUTH DAKOTA

RAWLINS LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Registration is now open for the eight-week summer reading program. Participants enjoy their very own 4-day session, Monday through Thursday. SATURDAY MORNING PAJAMA STORYTIME
Saturday, March 1 at 9:30 a.m.
No need to get out of jammies for this storytime. The whole family is invited to stay cozy in PJs while enjoying a story and craft.
TWEEN / TEEN CROCHET CLUB (TUESDAYS)
March 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Tweens and teens can learn the basics of crochet during weekly program. Crochet supplies will be provided; participants are welcome to bring their own crochet projects. Ages 10 and up. Seats are limited; registration requested by contacting the library.
WEDNESDAY MORNING STORYTIME
March 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 10 a.m.
Parents, caregivers, and kids will enjoy hearing fun stories, singing songs, and maybe the fan favorite, the parachute.
CRAFTERNOON: PERLER BEADS
Monday, March 10, 3:30 p.m.
Perler beads will be the featured craft at this Crafternoon session. Basic Perler bead patterns will be available. Enjoy a free bag of popcorn after the program.

There’s no school, so spend some time at the Library’s Free Play Friday program. This come and go program will feature LEGO bricks, board games, puppets, puppet theater, giant UNO, and more!
EARLY RELEASE DAY: BINGO FOR BOOKS
Wednesday, March 26 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
During your early release from school day, relax at the library and play a few rounds of Bingo for Books. Bingo winners select a free book and enjoy a free bag of popcorn after the event.
