The City of Pierre has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Central Plains Water Development District to support modeling work in the city’s water distribution system.
Representatives from the district attended Tuesday night’s City Commission meeting to present the award and share an update on the city’s successful application.
The Central Plains Water Development District serves Hughes, Sully, Potter, Hyde, and Faulk counties and regularly provides funding assistance for water and wastewater development projects throughout the region.
Mayor Steve Harding thanked the district for its continued support.
“Grants like this make a meaningful difference in our ability to maintain and improve essential infrastructure,” said Harding. “We appreciate the district’s long-standing partnership and the work they do across our region.”
The $10,000 grant will help offset the cost of detailed water system modeling, an important step in planning future upgrades and ensuring system reliability.
