Pierre, SD –The City of Pierre is looking for volunteer advisors for its Traffic Safety Committee.
The advisory board will have one vacancy beginning this December, and Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill is looking for someone to fill that role. Committee members provide recommendations regarding speed limits, traffic signals, crosswalks and other local traffic issues. Those appointed to the advisory board meet every two months and serve three-year terms.
“This committee provides its members with a chance to have a direct impact relative to local traffic issues,” said Mayor Gill. “If you’re interested in these types of issues, I encourage you to consider serving on this committee.”
Those interested in serving are required to complete an application. If you’re interested in serving on the Traffic Safety Committee, contact Laurie Gronlund at 605.773.7341 or via email at Laurie.Gronlund@ci.pierre.sd.us.
