PIERRE, S.D. – The City of Pierre will officially kick off the 2017 construction season next week.

On Monday, April 3, there will be traffic restrictions at the intersection of Lowell Avenue and Industrial Road while the City works to replace the curb and gutter.  Accommodations will be made for traffic that needs to utilize the intersection. Traffic limitations will remain in place at Lowell Avenue and Industrial Road until Saturday, April 8.

The Lowell Avenue project is just one piece of the $2.4 million budget the City has earmarked for street improvements this summer.  The City also plans to enhance and preserve more than 80 blocks of streets including a complete rebuild of Capitol Avenue from Nicollet Avenue east to Ree Street and a complete rebuild of Harrison Avenue between Capitol Avenue and Robinson Avenue.

The City of Pierre maintains more than 80 miles of streets.
