[ARCHIVED] Aquatics Center Closing for Maintenance


 


Pierre, S.D. – Pierre’s Aquatic Center, located at the Oahe Family YMCA, will temporarily close later this week.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, the Aquatics Center pool will close to allow contractors to replace the boiler system.  The current boilers which heat the entire pool and locker rooms is original to the facility and is beginning to fail.  The replacement project is expected to be completed by the end of May.  The public will be notified when the Aquatics Center reopens.

The Aquatics Center is owned by the City of Pierre and operated in partnership with the Oahe Family YMCA.  It was built by the City in 2000.
