East Park Street between South Hayes and South Garfield Avenues will close shortly after 8 a.m. tomorrow for street repair and replacement. The stretch of street will remain closed throughout the week and is expected to reopen by Friday, May 12.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The Park Street project is part of the $2.4 million budget the City has earmarked for street improvements this summer. The City also plans to enhance and preserve more than 80 blocks of streets including a complete rebuild of Capitol Avenue from Nicollet Avenue east to Ree Street and a complete rebuild of Harrison Avenue between Capitol Avenue and Robinson Avenue.
The City of Pierre maintains more than 80 miles of streets.
