Beginning Monday, July 17, Capitol Avenue between Nicollet Avenue and Wells Avenue will be closed to allow the City to finish reconstruction of Capitol Avenue.
This expansion of the Capitol Avenue closure will eliminate access to Capitol Avenue from Ree Street and also close the east exit for the Capitol building driveway. Those utilizing the driveway will need to exit the parking area via Broadway Avenue.
The Capitol Avenue reconstruction project is expected to be complete before the start of the school year.
The reconstruction project includes upgrading underground utilities, replacing the local storm sewer system, and completely rebuilding the street.
