Pierre, S.D. –Movies, Medicare, and time with the Mayor are all on the docket for Super Senior programming at Rawlins Library this fall. The Super Senior programs are designed with senior citizens in mind.
Monday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m.
The fall lineup begins on Sept. 11. The Super Senior Book Club will wrap up its discussion of the Janette Oke’s “Love Comes Softly” series with the movie “Love’s Abiding Joy”.
Monday, Sept. 25, 10:30 a.m.
On Sept. 25, a representative from the SHIINE (Senior Health Information and Insurance Education) program will be available to answer questions regarding Medicare Open Enrollment.
Monday, Oct. 2, 10:30 a.m.
To learn about opportunities to stay physically active this fall, visit the library on Oct. 2. Mindy Cheap with the City of Pierre Recreation Department will provide an introduction to the Seasoned Citizens program that includes classes like Line Dance and Tai Chi.
Monday, Oct. 16, 12 p.m.
Enjoy a lunch with Pierre’s Mayor Steve Harding on Oct. 16. Bring your own lunch to the library and learn about what’s going on in the Pierre community. This program is open to all community members.
Monday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m.
With the holiday season nearing, Avera Health will provide a dietician to help you keep your eating habits healthy despite all the holiday goodies.
The goal of Super Senior programming is to provide personal development and community engagement opportunities for senior citizens. The programs are free and no registration is required.
