Weather permitting, E. Dakota Ave. from S. Buchanan Ave. to S. Garfield Ave. will close to through traffic at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 10. This stretch of Dakota Ave. is scheduled to remain closed through Friday, June 21.
During the same time frame, S. Garfield Ave. from E. Dakota Ave. to S. Park St. will be closed to all traffic. The closures are to accommodate the complete rebuild of S. Garfield between E. Dakota and S. Park.
The City maintains 80 miles of streets. Each year, City staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
