Weather permitting, a portion of Dakota Ave. will close tomorrow for street maintenance operations. Parking restrictions will be in place overnight tonight.
Dakota Ave. between Crow St. and Washington Ave. will close tomorrow at 9 a.m. for fog sealing operations. No parking will be permitted on Dakota between Crow St. and Washington Ave. from 5 p.m. this evening until tomorrow afternoon. Work is expected to be complete by noon on Wednesday. Traffic barriers and parking restrictions will be removed once work is finished.
Fog sealing is a construction process used to extend the life of streets. Oil is placed on the roadway to seal the surface and prevent moisture from penetrating the top layer of the road.
The City maintains 80 miles of streets. Each year, City staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks, and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and construction projects.
