To encourage social distancing while South Dakota works to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the following City of Pierre closures and cancellations remain in place until further notice.
- City Aquatics Center Closed
- Pierre Police Dept. Lobby Closed to Walk-in Traffic: The Pierre Police Department lobby located at the Solem Public Safety Center is closed to walk-in traffic until further notice. In additional the following services are suspended: private fingerprinting services, ride-a-long programs, department tours, and community outreach events and public speaking requests.
- Rawlins Municipal Library Closed to Walk-in Traffic: Rawlins Library will continue to offer drive-up book returns, as well as curbside book delivery. Patrons should call ahead to reserve items for pick up. The library also offers online services that allow patrons to access downloadable books, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers. Library staff will be available to provide support by phone or email between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. until normal operations resume. Additionally, the library is now offering temporary library cards to allow access to online resources. Contact Library staff at 605.773.7421 to request a 60-day card.
- Seasoned Citizens Programming Suspended
Pierre City Hall remains open. However, the public is encouraged to utilize online services and phone support when possible.
Utility bills can be paid online, by phone, or through one of our two drop-off boxes.
To pay bills online, visit cityofpierre.org and click the “pay your bill” icon. You can pay utility bills by phone at 855.715.1316. You can also drop checks in the mail or use City utility bill drop-off boxes located in the City Hall parking lot or the drive-through alley just north of the U.S. Post Office.
Applications for business licenses, raffle requests or street closure requests can all be found online and submitted via email. Building permits can be found online and zoning and construction questions can be fielded by phone or email.
