[ARCHIVED] Preview New Rec Equipment

SOCCER DARTS

The City Recreation Department recently purchased some new equipment, and you have a chance to preview it later this month.

The City has purchased giant soccer darts as a new feature available for rent along with the City Recreational Facility. Other organized activities available in the space include floor hockey, Nerf wars and dodgeball.

“We can set each of these features up for parties and group gatherings,” said Mindy Cheap, Recreation Superintendent. “But before people commit to an event, we thought they might want to see how it all works.”

The City is giving you a chance to do just that on Saturday, January 16 at the City Rec Facility attached to the Boys and Girls Club.  Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., floor hockey and soccer darts will be displayed for use.  Then between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., people can try out the Nerf wars course and dodgeball.

Each session is designed for kids between the ages of 8 and 12, and each session costs $5 per person.  Preregistration is mandatory and can be completed at https://secure.rec1.com/catalog

The Rec Facility and equipment are available for parties. Parties can include up to 20 kids ages 6 and up. And the party space can be reserved in either 90 minute or two-hour time blocks. The two-hour party costs $100; the 90 minute party costs $75. Prices include staff and table and chairs.

For a list of rental options, fees, facility use agreements, or to reserve space, visit cityofpierre.org or call Pierre City Hall at 605.773.7407.
