Registration for this year’s city summer recreation programming starts next week. Programming is available for preschoolers, high schoolers, and everyone in between.
Online registration for all programs begins at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 26. If you need assistance registering, please call 605.773.7445.
This year there will be four two-week recreation sessions in addition to several sports camps.
“For preschoolers, we have music, swimming, squeaky sneakers and more,” said City Recreation Superintendent Mindy Cheap. “High schoolers can register for archery, tennis, and Governor’s basketball camp.”
Other programming includes T-ball, Golf, Nerf wars, Junior Ninja Warrior, Safety Town, Drama Kids, as well as a variety of other art and athletic programs.
“Summer recreation doesn’t look exactly as it did pre-pandemic, but we’re getting closer to normal and back with lots of exciting new options,” said Cheap.
Programming begins Monday, June 7. To register and to find a complete list of program schedules, fees, and age restrictions, visit the recreation page at cityofpierre.org.
Historically, more than 400 kids participate in city summer recreation activities each year.
