[ARCHIVED] Friday: No Parking on Governors Drive

4.22.21_GOVERNORS DRIVE_PARKING RESTRICTION MAP

Beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow, no parking will be permitted on a large section of Governors Drive.

The city will be crack sealing Governors Drive between Church and Fourth Streets. To accommodate curb-to-curb work, no parking will be permitted until the work is complete.  The construction zone will be signed; the signs will be removed when the parking restriction is lifted. The street work is anticipated to be complete by 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Crack sealing is a process used to fill and seal cracks in street surfaces. It mitigates water damage and extends the life of the street surface.

The city maintains 80 miles of streets, more than 100 miles of water main, and more than 60 miles of sanitary sewer. Each year, city staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
