[ARCHIVED] Family Fun Run Planned for Pool Project

WET AND WILD FUN RUN

Family Fun Run Planned for Pool Project

Lace up those sneakers all in the name of a good cause.

This July, the city Recreation Department will hold a wet and wild family fun run, and you should have no problem staying cool during this race. The fun run, being held to support the city’s new outdoor pool, will include a series of water obstacles, sprinklers, super soakers, water balloons and slip and slides.

“Since we’re doing this to raise money for the fun features at the new outdoor pool, we wanted to make it extra fun and incorporate an element of water,” said Mindy Cheap, Recreation Superintendent. “It should bring out the kid in all the runners.”

Participants of all ages are welcome at the July 24 event. It starts at 9 a.m. in Steamboat Park.

The registration fee is $25 for an individual. A family of four can register for $40; there’s a $5 fee for all additional family members. Those who register by July 9 are guaranteed a fun run t-shirt and sunglasses.
