STORM UPDATE 4.5.23, 6:30 A.M.

Effective immediately, the City of Pierre’s snow alert and no travel advisory are both lifted. 

Emergency snow routes have been cleared, and on-street parking is permissible along those routes.  Plowing operations have moved to residential streets; to accommodate plowing, use off-street parking along residential streets where possible.

The Pierre Regional Airport remains closed. The Pierre Regional Landfill is closed. All other City offices are open today.


STORM UPDATE 4.4.23, 7:00 P.M.

As storm conditions continue to worsen, no travel is advised within the City of Pierre.

The advisory is effective immediately and will remain in place until conditions improve and the advisory is lifted.


STORM UPDATE 4.4.23, 5:30 P.M.

Today’s 8:10 p.m. commercial flight into Pierre has been cancelled; Pierre Regional Airport is closing at 6:00 p.m.

City plowing operations will pause at 6 p.m. this evening and resume again at 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Crews will remain on-call between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The City remains under a snow alert; please avoid parking on emergency snow routes.


STORM UPDATE 4.4.23, 1:30 P.M.

The City of Pierre remains under a snow alert; please avoid parking on emergency snow routes. Plowing operations continue as crews work to keep the snow routes clear . Motorists are reminded that streets remain slippery.

Today’s 4:05 p.m. flight from Denver and 4:35 p.m. flight to Denver are cancelled.

The City’s baling facility is closed for the day.


City of Pierre Offices Closed, Commission Meeting Cancelled

City of Pierre offices, including Rawlins Municipal Library, are closed today due to weather conditions. 

Additionally, tonight’s Pierre City Commission meeting is cancelled.

The City of Pierre remains under a snow alert. To accommodate plowing, vehicles should be removed from emergency snow routes.
