Snow Removal

In compliance with Pierre City Ordinance § 6-7-102, this serves as official notice to all property owners within the City of Pierre to remove all snow and ice on sidewalks in violation of Pierre City Ordinance § 6-7-101. Failure to do so may result in abatement, fines, penalties, and fees as established under Pierre City Ordinance § 6-7-106 and Pierre City Ordinance § 8-2-103.

Pierre City Ordinance § 6-7-101 states:

The owner or person in possession of any property abutting on any sidewalk shall keep such sidewalk free from snow and ice and shall remove any snow or ice from the sidewalk within forty-eight (48) hours after the termination of any snow fall or snow or ice accumulation.

Grass & Weeds

In compliance with Pierre City Ordinance § 7-4-102, this serves as official notice to all property owners within the City of Pierre to cut, destroy, or remove any weeds, grass, deleterious, unhealthful growths, or other noxious matter found growing, lying, or located on property or upon the sidewalk abutting same in violation of Pierre City Ordinances § 7-4-101 and § 8-2-102(K). Failure to do so may result in abatement, fines, penalties, and fees as established under Pierre City Ordinances § 7-4-102 and/or § 7-4-105.

Pierre City Ordinances § 7-4-101 states:

Duty of property owner or occupant to keep weeds and other growths under control. No owner or any lot or property within the City or any agent of such owner or the occupant of such lot or property shall permit thereon or upon any sidewalk abutting the same, any weeds, grass, or deleterious, unhealthful growths, or other noxious matter that may be growing, having reached a height of 12 inches, lying or located thereon and the growing of such weeds or other noxious or unhealthful vegetation is hereby declared to be a nuisance.

Pierre City Ordinance § 8-2-102(K) states:

 Prohibited nuisances shall include, but are not limited to the following enumeration, which are hereby deemed and declared nuisances. Permitting weeds to grow to maturity on any private property including vacant lots.
